Known for Commanding at Breed's Hill
The colonel who led Patriot militia to fortify Breed's Hill the night before the Battle of Bunker Hill. If anyone actually said "don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes," it was likely Prescott — reminding his under-supplied men not to waste limited gunpowder. He formally commended Salem Poor for bravery.
