Samuel Adams

Known for Sons of Liberty; organizing the Tea Party
Boston-born Founding Father and cousin of John Adams. He co-founded the Sons of Liberty with John Hancock, organized the Boston Tea Party, signed the Declaration, and later served as governor of Massachusetts.
His statue by Anne Whitney stands in front of Faneuil Hall, depicting him defiantly demanding that British troops leave Boston right after the Massacre. He is buried at Granary Burying Ground.
