Martin Luther King Jr.

The Atlanta-born minister who led the nonviolent civil-rights movement, from the Montgomery bus boycott to the March on Washington. He won the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize and was assassinated in 1968; his birthplace, church, and tomb are preserved in Atlanta.
