JFK Birthplace

PeopleJohn F. Kennedy

The three-story house at 83 Beals Street in Brookline where John F. Kennedy was born in 1917 — now run by the National Park Service. Joseph and Rose Kennedy bought the home in 1914, just after they married, and their first children grew up here: JFK's older brother Joe Jr., then Jack himself, and his sisters Rosemary and Kathleen. After the assassination, Rose Kennedy helped restore the house as a memorial to her son, and it became a national historic site in 1967.
